DepositFeesExplanation Published 2026-09-28 23

Many first-time customers ask why the online payment amount is less than the rental fee plus the deposit they expected. The reason is that the deposit is not part of the online payment.

Why it works this way

The vehicle deposit exists to cover the condition of the car and any outstanding traffic violations, and whether it is returned can only be determined by inspecting the vehicle at pick-up and again at return. Collecting and refunding it in person at the counter matches the actual process and avoids the waiting time of an online refund cycle.

Deposit by model

  • Sedan: CNY 3,000
  • 7-seat SUV: CNY 4,000
  • Off-road SUV: CNY 5,000
  • Charter products with a driver: no vehicle deposit

The exact amount shown on each product page applies.

Conditions and timing of refund

The deposit is refunded once the return inspection confirms no new damage, the fuel level matches the agreement and there are no outstanding violations. Timing depends on the payment method: cash or bank transfer is usually same-day, while a credit card pre-authorisation release generally takes several business days.
